The Bayeux Tapestry
The Masterpiece is nearly 1,000 years old and depicts the conquest of England in embroidery. simon bailly illustrated three scenes from the tapestry’s more recent history: In 1953, a dispute arose when France refused to loan the tapestry to England for Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation. Starting in the fall of 2026, the tapestry is set to return to England for the first time and be displayed at the British Museum. The only question is how the fragile artwork will be transported. But Simon already has an idea for that, featured in Financial Times Weekend magazine.
